Sonoran Glow was captured near Globe, Arizona, while documenting cowboys working the rugged Gila County terrain. Just after sunrise, we rode out through cactus-filled brush and climbed a hillside to set up the shot. With a ladder over my shoulder and sweat pouring under the desert sun, I found the right vantage point—stacking rocks to rise above the saguaros. As the valley lit up, I had the cowboys look toward the distant Superstition Mountains. This image pays tribute to the grit of Arizona cowboys and evokes the timeless spirit of classic Westerns.
