This was one of the most challenging images I’ve created. While shooting a new series in the Mojave Desert, I envisioned cowboys lounging in a 1970s-style motel lobby—vintage denim, dusty boots, and era-specific props. But something was missing. Then I had a wild idea: a horse peeking through the window, adding a touch of humor and character. With limited lighting and a tripod setup, I waited patiently for the perfect moment—ears forward, stillness all around. After several tries, we finally captured it. Fittingly, it was the last frame on the roll.
