ACRYLIC, GLASS, AND WOOD
A pop-up exhibition celebrating the work of Christopher H. Martin; Orfeo Quagliata; Javier Suarez from TARACEA; and the Suarez brothers from RASTTRO.
Although signature in their exploration of form and function, they are linked by deep affection and appreciation of materiality, and mastery within their chosen field of expression. Opening on Wednesday, May 15, this exhibition provocatively questions, and blurs, the lines between art and design, form and function, nature and man-made.
Acrylic, Glass and Wood seeks to cross a threshold between utility and contemplation, meaning and anonymity. Objects of domesticity are celebrated and heightened, subverting how they are traditionally received. Acrylic, Glass, and Wood celebrates man’s interaction with nature, in both spiritual and tangible ways. Informed by Martin’s paintings, this installation of furniture, objects, and paintings offers the viewer a glimpse into a curated life, a sense of wholeness, beauty, and connection to our natural world.
